There is no routine at Estin & Co. The work changes with the client, the mission and your teammates and every staffing is therefore completely different from the previous in terms of subject, work organization and geographies. But what is common though is a great atmosphere of camaraderie and professionalism, which binds people together during and outside work hours.
What we are asked as consultants is far from repetitive. We solve original and challenging problems using data, interviews and above all the richness of the different approaches and intellectual capabilities of the team to come up with answers to the questions asked by our clients.
There is no definite answer or argument and that’s what makes the work all the more exciting. It is also great to work with many different nationalities from Spain to China, it really has an immense added value both personally and professionally.
Following my graduation from Columbia University, I wanted my first job to be both exciting and demanding. I was also looking for a position where I would get the opportunity to travel and work on international problems for international clients because I didn’t want to lose the mind-broadening perspective I got from my year in New York.
When I first applied to Estin & Co, I admit I hardly knew the company and came primarily out of curiosity. While conversing with the consultants and going through the interview process, I realized I liked the quantitative and constructive approach of the firm and its methods. The people I met were really smart and professional and I was thrilled at the opportunity to interact directly with really senior industry leaders, all the more in a small structure where I could really stand out. I thought that would really be a great way to start my professional life and so I decided to join the firm.

The day I arrived I just had enough time to do the required training sessions before I started on my first mission! And from that point on, I have had the opportunity to work for three different companies in less than 5 months and discover fields from energy to consumer durables.
As a junior consultant, our role is to build the analysis on which the reasoning of the team is going to thrive. We have numerous ways to meet that end from financial information sources to face-to-face interviews but in the end what really matters is the result of our analysis and models and the way we present them. Since Estin & Co is small firm, we get a lot of freedom to work the way we want, results being the only thing we are being evaluated on. Throughout this process we get to interact directly with both clients and partners and therefore get a lot more exposure to senior people than in larger consulting firms.
“Being a junior consultant at Estin & Co is a demanding and rewarding experience in a privileged environment where you get to learn and develop surrounded and mentored by great people.”
