Jean E. Estin

Jean Estin is the Chairman and co-founder of Estin & Co. He has 30 years of experience in strategy consulting and senior management.

Before founding Estin & Co, he was successively with the Boston Consulting Group (Paris), managing director of Carrier s.a. (United Technologies) (Paris, Geneva), managing director of Strategic Planning Associates Inc. (1) in France then in the United Kingdom, president Europe of Mercer Management Consulting Inc. (1), (London) and member of the board of directors of The Mercer Consulting Group Inc. (New York).

Jean Estin assists senior executives of large European and North American corporations in major strategic and organisational changes, growth strategies, acquisitions and alliances, post-merger integration, pricing strategies, major industrial restructuring as well as revenue and margin enhancement programs. He also works on a regular basis for private equity investment funds.

As a consultant or a senior executive he has led or advised in more than 40 acquisitions and 15 post-acquisition programs.

He has in-depth expertise in energy, electricity and related services, industries (chemicals, glass products, automotive and components, metal industries, …), textiles and apparel (cotton and wool, fashion and luxury brands, hosiery and underwear, …), consumer goods and services (perfumes and cosmetics, electrical appliances, food and beverage, optical lenses, hotels, passenger transportation, …), retail distribution (food, apparel, …), business to business services (air conditioning, refrigeration, industrial maintenance, equipment rental, …), professional services (consulting, database management, …) and financial services (retail banking and finance, wholesale banking, life and P&C insurance, insurance, brokerage).

Jean Estin graduated from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales in Paris (HEC). He is a visiting lecturer in finance, strategy and business economics in several French universities (in strategy, finance and economics).

Jean Berg

Jean Berg is Senior Vice President at Estin & Co. He has 20 years of experience in strategy consulting.

Before joining Estin & Co, he was successively with Braxton Associates (Paris, Munich and Moscow) and with the Comptoir des Entrepreneurs (Paris).

He specialises in corporate and business strategies, value creation programs, economic modelling of industry and competitive dynamics, redefinition of value chains and activities, pricing strategy, customer management strategy, retail distribution strategy, manufacturing strategies and restructuring.

He regularly assists private equity funds in strategic due diligence analyses and exit strategies.

He has in-depth expertise in consumer goods (food and beverage, electrical appliances, ...), mail services, textile and apparel (cotton, hoisery and underwear, ...), fashion and luxury goods, retail distribution (food, apparel and fashion, ...), electricity and related services, and in financial services (consumer finance, mortage, ...).

Jean Berg is a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) and the Helsinki School of Economics (HSE). He speaks fluent French, English and German.

Antoine Pouillieute

Antoine Pouillieute is Vice President at Estin & Co. He has more than 30 years of experience as a senior civil servant, strategy consultant, general manager and ambassador.

Before joining Estin & Co, he was successively Deputy Chief of staff of the French Ministry of Finance and of the French Prime Minister, Chief of staff of the French Ministry of Cooperation (ODA), Vice President of Strategic Planning Associates (1), CEO of the Agence Française de Développement (bilateral state-owned bank for developing and emerging countries), Deputy permanent secretary of the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs, then ambassador to Vietnam and to Brazil.

During his career as a senior civil servant, strategy consultant, CEO of a financial institution, COO of a large governmental organization or ambassador, he led or was a key element in reorganizing and privatizing French industry, helping CEOs of large corporations redefine their strategies, assisting them in growing in emerging countries, deciding on the financing of key investments for emerging countries and managing and improving large organizations.

Antoine Pouillieute graduated from Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA) and was then member of the Conseil d'Etat. He speaks fluent French and English.

Marco Mäder

Marco Mäder is Vice President at Estin & Co. He has 10 years of experience in strategy consulting.

He specializes in business and growth strategies, redefinition of business models and value chains, asset management and pricing strategies through cycles..

He also regularly assists private equity funds across Europe in target seeking, strategic due diligence analysis, business strategies and exit strategies for portfolio companies.

He has an in-depth expertise in construction materials (production and distribution), shipbuilding and ship operations, energy (electricity and gas), industrial equipment and components, specialized pharmaceuticals as well as the hotel and travel industry.

Marco Mäder graduated from University of St. Gallen (HSG) with a Masters in economics and controlling and also a Masters in international business (CEMS). He is a Swiss Citizen and speaks German, French, English and Russian fluently.

Frédéric Milgrom

Frédéric Milgrom is Vice President at Estin & Co. He has more than 15 years of experience in strategy and management consulting.

Before joining Estin & Co, he was successively manager at AT Kearney (Düsseldorf, Paris) and associate partner at Mercer / Oliver Wyman (Paris).

Frédéric Milgrom assists large European groups in their growth strategies, their offer and supplier partnerships strategies, their retail distribution strategy, their pricing strategy and tactics as well in other significant margin enhancing programs.

He regularly assists private equity funds in strategic due diligences, portfolio performance enhancement initiatives and exit strategies.

He has in-depth expertise in retail and distribution (food and non food), consumer goods and services, transportation and logistics and in construction materials.

He is active throughout Europe and has a robust command of the specificities of grocery and non food distribution channels in France, Benelux, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Italy.

Frédéric Milgrom is a graduate of HEC, of the Cologne University (CEMS masters in international business) and of the University of Paris-Orsay (Mathematics). He is a regular speaker in several French graduate schools on Strategy and Retail. He speaks fluent French, English and German.
